One URL, three parts

Calls go to https://api.congress.gov/v3, then a path. This one asks for the list of Congresses. The request box is that URL. Change it and press Run. Send your key as the X-Api-Key header, or as api_key on the query string. This page keeps the key on the server and drops it if you paste it into the URL.
  • The third field is named for the collection. Bills come back as bills, members as members.
  • pagination.next is a full URL. With header auth, that URL does not include the key.
  • limit defaults to 20 and caps at 250. offset is how many records to skip, not a page number. The rate limit is 5,000 calls an hour.
